Velho Chico is a Brazilian soap opera produced by Rede Globo. The main piece of the opening represents the magnificent São Francisco River, which runs through a large part of Brazil.
The stop motion opening was created by Animaking using artwork created using wood engraving and manual painting by visual artists Samuel Casal and Mello Menezes.
