The campaign for matcha tea from the brand “Do bem” are animated vignettes using the stopmotion technique, celebrating with great humor a Japanese icon that is the “snow monkeys” of Jigokudani park. The film is a classic production with puppets, set design and studio animation.
Project Concept:
The campaign for “Do bem” matcha tea was supposed to be a traditional animation, with talking animals acting as protagonists. In the film, a snow monkey had to perform monologues presenting the product. The aesthetics had to be realistic and needed to present a setting that broadly presented the Japanese atmosphere of the film, with Mount Fuji in the background and the context of the hot springs. The film also shouldn't abuse finishing touches to avoid losing the charm of classic stopmotion animation.
